PUPPY PURCHASE AGREEMENT
WHITETAILS guarantees against serious birth & hereditary defects including hip and elbow dysplasia up to 2 years of age. We send out all of our puppies with a 2 year written health guarantee. Our replacement plan allows you to keep the defected subject [spay/neuter is required] while being replaced with one of contracted quality for just the charges of shipping. Unless the defect is w/in the 72 hr window in which case the puppy must be returned at your expense and an equal replacement will be issued at our expense. In order for this health guarantee to be valid, the following 5 must be followed.
1. You must take your new puppy to a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of purchase; failure to do so will result in all guarantees being voided. We hold no responsibility for any communicable diseases after 72 hours of purchase. If a serious health issue occurs within the first 72 hours of purchasing your puppy, you will be required to provide us with written documentation from a licensed veterinarian and get a second opinion w/in 24 hrs of diagnosis. You can then return the defected puppy to us immediately for a replacement.
2. Any buyer with a puppy crippled by hip dysplasia or other genetic defect must present the breeder with a certified letter and x-rays from a licensed veterinarian within 24 hours of finding the defect. Our replacement plan will then be effective.
3. Proof that dog is current on all vaccinations and dewormings, including all puppy shots recommended by a licenses veterinarian.
4. The puppy must be fed a large breed dog food and nothing with by-products or chemical preservatives, BHA, BHT, or Ethoxyquins in the ingredients. This is to maintain proper nutrition and health. Receipts/Credit Card Statements must be kept to provide documentation that the puppy is being provided proper nutrition; we will also accept barcodes that include the brand.
5. The puppy must not be subject to play or running on hardwood or other slippery flooring during developmental stages. It is understood that in conjunction with a healthy diet and minimal exercise the puppy will have the best chance for normal healthy hips.
- As of the date of this agreement, puppy is in good health, free of any communicable diseases and is current on all shots and worming.
- Pre-existing medical conditions (if any) are noted above, and are excluded from replacement guarantee.
- We DO NOT grant cash refunds or accept liability for medical, veterinary, or misc. expenses related to the care of your puppy.
- Buyer understands and agrees that extensive exercise before the dog is 18 months old and developed is strictly prohibited. Jumping in and out of vehicles, excessive play on slippery and/or hard surfaces and other activities that may cause stress on undeveloped joints is absolutely unacceptable.
Buyer shall use the kennel name WHITETAILS before registered/call name when exhibiting or registering the puppy. Buyer agrees that, if the puppy is registered, it will be registered (or recorded) with AKC first and others as a secondary or not at all.
The Puppy may not be sold or given away by Buyer without the prior written consent of Seller, who shall have FIRST right to retain ownership.
Please make sure you do your research so that you are aware of how to properly raise and socialize your new Golden. It is the buyer’s responsibility to properly socialize and train their dog. Buyer agrees that when purchasing one of our puppies, they will honor and respect this breed of dog by socializing and putting their new puppy through a puppy kindergarten class and basic obedience training class. This should all be completed by 6 months of age.
Buyer agrees to not isolate the dog in a kennel or crate for long periods of time. Dog must never be chained. Buyer understand that by doing any of the above can cause behavioral problems and accepts full responsibility if dog is subjected to the above conditions.
If at any time the buyer can no longer retain possession of this dog, the seller is to be notified and given FIRST OPTION of resuming full ownership. The dog will be returned with all registration papers and all medical records.
Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES is the dog to be placed in a pet shop, animal shelter, or similar establishment.
Failure to comply with the above conditions of sale will hold the purchaser liable for $2000.00 punitive damages payable immediately. Any and all court costs & attorney fees will be paid by the purchaser at the time of the court's decision.
**It is understood that this agreement is to protect the integrity of the sellers' bloodlines and the health and safety of the dog.
WHITETAIL values its extended Golden family and expects to remain in contact. We enjoy keeping in touch and seeing photos of your puppy. Updated contact information and photos are REQUIRED to own one of our puppies. If updated info and contact is not kept this contract will be null and void. Our puppies are a very important part of our family, and we care very much about their growth, health & development also because it plays an important part of our program with the breed.
